About our Club

Lorain County Meteroparks French Creek Nature Center

Membership Meetings - are held at Lorain Metroparks French Creek Nature Center from 6:30-9:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month (September-June) unless otherwise advised. The meeting usually starts with new and old business and have a guest speaker and always a raffle and 50/50.

Fly Tying - is every Wednesday there is not a Membership Meeting or casting night at Walker Road Park, Avon, Ohio. The fly tying sessions are held at Gus's Bar in Sheffield, Ohio.

Club Picnic - is held at French Creek Pine Tree Picnic Area, Avon, Ohio and usually it's the last Membership Meeting before summer break. 

Christmas Party - is our December's Membership  Meeting at Lorain Metroparks French Creek Nature Center.

Fishing Trips - Members plan several group trips annually to places like Cape Cod for stripers, Montana for trout, and Belize for bones and tarpon, a local river for steelhead or a local trout club. 

Other club events

 -Members have opportunities to volunteer to help out with events such as Project Healing Waters (PHW), Casting for Recovery (CFR) and Reel Recovery.

  - The club participates at other club Expo's, grand openings and other events where they tie flies, give casting instructions and promote the club.

  - The club offers an annual clam bake to its member's family and friends which helps fund the club.
  - The club has scheduled casting nights at Walker Road Park during the summer. Members have the opportunity to improve their casting skills and some from an expert casting member or just fish the lake.
