About Activities

Meetings (September-June)

• Meetings are held at Sandy Ridge Lorain Metroparks, 6195 Otten Road, N. Ridgeville

• When? The second Wednesday of each month, 6 pm-9 pm, (September-June) unless otherwise advised. 

• Fly Tying: Starts at 5 pm, one hour before the meeting at 6 pm.

• Agenda: Old and New business, usually a Guest Speaker and 50/50 raffle.

Summer Break (July-August)

Club Picnic

• Is held at French Creek Pine Tree Picnic Area located in Avon, Ohio usually the last Meeting in June before summer break .

Christmas Party

• Is held at December's Meeting at Sandy Ridge Metro Park, 6195 Otten Road, N. Ridgeville

Fishing Trips

• Members plan several group trips annually to places like Cape Cod for stripers, Montana for trout, Belize for bones and tarpon, local river for steelhead and local trout club.

Other Club Events

​

Our club is proud to be partners with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF), which is a fly fishing program for disabled veterans. Its volunteers are club members and other volunteers from the flyfishing community. Classes are held at Lorain Community College (LCCC), two times monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 2 pm - 3:30 pm. PHWFF is a programs for disabled veterans and active military that saves countless veteran lives. Fireland Flyfishers also participates at fishing Expo's, grand openings and other events where they tie flies, give casting instructions and promote our club.

During our Summer Break we have casting at Walker Road Park, 31565-31595 Walker Rd, Bay Village, OH 44140 

and members have opportunities to socialize, improve their casting skills from some of our expert casting member or just fish the park's lake.
